One Ice Cafe (Jurong East)

Knowing how overpriced Bingsu (Korean Shaved Ice) can get in Singapore, you'd be glad to know that you can get your Bingsu fix at One Ice Cafe without blowing a hole in your wallet. While the Bingsu here looks far less photogenic than say, Numsaram at Westgate, it tastes quite decent.

This is the original Patbingsu ($6.80), and it comes in a 6 inch bowl -- more than enough for two. Toppings are just vanilla ice cream, azuki beans and cornflakes. You'll find the rice cakes and jelly buried somewhere inside the pile of ice. Speaking of the shaved ice, it was creamy but not sweet at all.

Look at how fluffy and fine that is. Perfect to cool off after a hot day.

On the other hand, the Peanut Bingsu ($6.80), basically screams peanuts. Below the layer of peanuts there was a layer of ice and then, you guessed it, more peanuts. We wished there was more of the shaved ice.

We would definitely come back to One Ice Cafe again for its no frills approach to Bingsu (:
